The lines of formal and casual dinnerware can be a bit blurred at the
point where they meet. Gone are the days when a wide rim white pattern
is formal and a soft color oddly shaped pattern is casual. Throw out the
box... it simply doesn't fit today's dinnerware enthusiast.
What
we can say, is that formal dinnerware tends to be very well executed
and carries a tighter, higher selection than perhaps a casual brand
might have. What we think of formal is more of a traditional look.
Steelite's
reputation is one of either dressing up to go to the ball.... or
loosening up to go to the pub. Steelite's Monaco white is a prim and
proper blank palette for a formal presentation while it's Craft
selection is a down home, earth inspired, comfort food friendly cousin.
And yes, they're often seen together as well.
